And lo did He come down from the House of White to give praise and joyous ovations to the Lessers for finding the wisdom to do exactly what He told them to do. -Obama 3:16

His warning to Congress... is it just me or was that a subtle hint that he was going to push for removal of the debt limit again?

Considering that it doesn't do DICK to lower the deficit or even begin to pay off the debt since spending wasn't addressed (and that's what the actual problem is), they should all be toast. Raising taxes on anyone right now instead of cutting spending should be considered treasonous.

Cool. I think the Tea Party caucus has harmed the Republican party's ability to win elections. Keep on keeping on, I guess

I think both Democrats and Republicans are going to financially ruin this country, and no one really seems to care. Gotta love how my generation is getting shafted. Keep on keeping on, I guess.

The Tea Party gave the Republicans the House and narrowed the margin in the Senate.

Republicans would hold the Senate right now if they had not nominated so many Tea Party types over the last two cycles.

Don't be such a dupe. The Tea Party was this country's best chance at ending incumbent corruption. Yeah, the movement allowed some loons to make some tickets. But, that's not what defined it (outside the partisan press), and they still represent the country's hope for preserving American solvency. At least our loons were defeated. The leftist radicals hold the highest offices of the Democrat party.

Winning the redistricting battles (gerrymandering) won the Republicans the House this last cycle. The Dems won the Congressional popular vote. The loons the kooks pushed for senatorial seats also allowed the Dems to have 21 seats up for election and not only hold serve, but GAIN. The Tea Party is a net negative for conservatism and the only people who seemingly don't realize this are the Tea Party advocates.

Not remotely true. Social Conservatism is a huge negative for the Tea Party though. The TP is a group founded on fiscal principles. Because those seem more aligned with the GOP, many fiscally conservative GOP'ers who were also ultra radical social conservatives claimed to be Tea Party candidates. Every one of those individuals lost on basis of non-TP-related GOP positions.

Big time. They have some good ideas with fiscal conservatism and spending cuts, but their hardline stance of no new taxes ever again no matter fricking what has really hurt the GOP a lot. Probably cost them the presidential election as well.

Why does everybody want to blame the people who actually care about our finances in the next decade or so? The spend spend spend crap is going to put us in a great depression, if it doesn't permanently ruin us as a country. The bottom line is tax revenues aren't the big problem, spending is! By passing trash like this the uninformed masses think we have averted some financial disaster when in reality we have created a bigger one.
