I don't get why he wasn't getting any time with all of the garbage in front of him at the 3, but if the team didn't plan on playing him, then they should have done this a long time ago.

Hopefully he will get some good playing time. I saw some good things from him. Do we still keep his rights?

yup.

he must have either been in monty's doghouse or just been really awful if he couldn't find time at the 3 on this team.

Good question. I would think if a D-league team signs a player as a FA, they are free for any team to sign. But, if a team assigns a player the the D-league, then that teams hold his rights. I really have no idea, but that is just what makes sense to me.

Um. Teams send players to the DLeague all the time. They just want him to get some time playing. OKC sent Lamb earlier this year, as have many other teams with their rookies.

They did it because they know with Gordon back he won't get any burn and they want him to keep developing.

It works just like an MLB team sending a guy into their farm system. Of course they "keep their rights".

It isn't unreasonable to think that the NBA and MLB could possibly have different rules for their farms systems. And for the record, there are people (like myself) who couldn't care less about the MLB, so I have no idea how the ins and outs of their farm systems work, to even compare it to the NBA.

My assumption on Miller is he's not playing until they pull the plug on Aminu and Henry. I wonder if this means that's about to happen. Teams have been sending guys down to Dleague for a handful of games, not weeks at a time.

That's exactly my thought. They want to play AFA and Henry until they get moved. They don't want Miller languishing on the bench.

Regardless, they just want him to play and develop, and he can't do that on the bench, or getting 5 minutes every third game.

Yea I'm all for him getting more minutes in the D league. I really hope he develops into a solid bench player

Move them for what? A box of tacos and 3 vouchers redeemable for free admission to the Blue Man Group?

if that's true, then it's horrible timing because they could have put Miller there a long time ago. has he played at all the past few games? gotta give him a little play time. either he isn't playing solid D and monty wants him to work on that, or he's just awful.

eta: that and Aminu and Henry aren't exactly trade bait anyway, so giving them more PT wouldn't really do much.

Maybe Demps sent him down because Monty wasn't giving him run.

I think he should've gotten more minutes to show what he can do.

He moved Juju for Marco. It happens. Shitty players get moved for cap space, 2nd rounders, other shirty players, or filler in larger trades.

Not saying its going to happen, but with Gordon back they are going to roll with Vets and he needs a lot more minutes to develop than he's going to get here. That's the main reason.

It could also just be that he isn't that good. I think people put way too much stock into a guy who was a second round pick. They don't tend to provide much with obvious exceptions.

Like I said, teams only use the Dleague for a handful of games, not weeks. Yes that seems stupid but that's the way it is. I guess because you don't control the coaching and its a different system and role for guys that get sent down.

As far as Aminu or Henry getting traded, rumor is Charlotte is making a run at Cousins. The trading season has begun.

Allegedly the offer CHA has made for Cousins should be "hard to pass up".
