Who will be the 2013 version fantasy wise?

I have 2 nominations:

Mark Rogers SP Brewers; Former 1st round pick. Hit majors in 2010 but plagued by injuries... didn't play in 2011. Did pretty good coming in at the end of 2012. Had pretty good k/bb ratios and considering his limited experience has shown he can strike hitters out.

James Loney 1B TB; he has under achieved offensively but now moving to Tampa(he won't threaten to be an offensive mvp though)

Both could be nice pickups at the end of a draft or $1-$2 in an auction.

Any others out there?

Ivan Nova, he improved his k/9 last season just didn't get the results
Hughes if he can reduce home runs will be a solid #3 for Yanks and guaranteed for 15 wins and 150 strikeouts

Dillion Gee from Mets could come back from injury as well
A lot of rebound candidates out there

A biased pick for me is Homer Bailey. It finally clicked in the last year (especially in the second half and playoffs), and he has learned how to pitch in a hitter's park.

You really missed an opportunity there.

Should have said a homer pick imo.

Kinda the point of the thread... I don't know anyone who expected Dickey to have the year he had.

Aren't all yankees potential all stars...

Homer Bailey is a good one.

Who has a chance to be next Bautista/Encarnacion/Dickey/Alex Gordon

Someone who blossoms late in their career? Said 27 years or older?

Well Dickey has been good the past 3 years. He had at least shown something.

Loney has never shown glimpses of power nah mean?

Two relatively young pitchers who could have big years....

Hughes last year posted a 7.8k/9 (improved from 5.8k/9)and a 2.2W/9 (improved from 3.3w/9) what did him in was 35 home runs allowed. He still won 16 games for the Yankees, if he cuts his home runs by say 10 he probably has 3 more wins and under a 4.00 ERA on year.

Nova improved his strike out rate from 5.3k/9 to 8.1k/9 and lowered his walk per 9 from 3.1 to 3.0. He allowed 28 home runs on season and allowed 10 hits per 9 as opposed to 8 the previous season.

He had a 3.28 ERA in 2011 in 32 starts
He had a 2.84 ERA in 2010 in 26 starts

Yonder Alonso and Michael Saunders are two to watch.

Nova is an Edwin Jackson type pitcher. Sucks in fantasy but is an adequate SP IRL.

Hughes has potential I guess

I like Brett Gardner if healthy (I'm biased on this one however) as I think he could be a 70+ steal guy with a .310+ avg and .350+ OBP

Although if Cards could get Matt Carpenter some playing time I think he could have a great year.

Gardner is a good one. He's better than Bourn who everyone slurps

I think Ike Davis explodes, but he doesn't really qualify here. He's already a good MLB hitter.
