Well, they have better judges..Ours would rewrite it, and find a way to pass it.

I actually wanted this so we could point to France as to why we don't overtax the rich.

They didn't strike it down because they thought it was too much. They thought the application was discriminatory. A married couple who both have salaries of $900,000, for a combined household income of 1.8 million, wouldn't be taxed at 75%, but a married couple where the husband earns 1.1 million and the wife is a stay at home mother would be taxed at 75%.

I wanted it to pass so we could point to the crashing the French economy would do as all the wealthy moved away as an example of why over-taxing the rich is a bad idea.

A tyrant is someone who doesn't rule by law; or rather, his whim is law.
On this ruling, it will probably mean more taxation, if Hollande decides to pursue it. Though I hope he won't.
