It said they had failed to provide a "safe school setting" or design "an effective student safety emergency response plan and protocol."

Wow. A parent of a survivor is suing?? What a slap in the face to those who lost loved ones. How about bring thankful your kid is alive adm stop trying to get rich??

Yeah, that ain't going to make it in court. Foreseeable danger? There wasn't a goddamn thing about this tragedy that was foreseeable.

At least the parents of this alive, physically unhurt child waited a whole day before suing the state. Fn smh

Im with you. Be thankful your child is alive. Many familes lost a child. Much worse than some emotional damage.

It's an elementary school in a quiet town. Not fort fricking Knox. Not to mention many lives were saved by quick thinking teachers.

Comment on Poli Board on subject talks about how he hopes this improves school safety.
This was a random act of violence, there is no planning other than having an armed officer at a school or locking down schools. You take numbers of schools in American and numbers of days kids attend and I would guess you have better shot of getting struck by lightening than this occurring.

They should sue the frick out of that kid.....oh wait hes dead.

Well..sue the school for letting him in with guns....oh wait, he shot his way in....
Well then frick, sue the state since they allowed this kid to live instead of forseeing this happening 20 years ago and smoothering him in his crib.

To stop shootings, you would need a metal detector and officer at every entrance, and then deadbolt every door during school hours. That's not in the budget
