I didn't watch the game tonight (busy with the RV leaving for Atlanta in the am), but if he drove the lane and missed a shot, then the Pacers were correct in their huddles. The coaches in the 4th quarter of the Pacer's game kept telling Pacer players to allow him to drive the lane and back off of him as he could not shoot running shots in the lane

This makes no sense at all. One of his best weapons this year has been his floater through the lane.

And has led his team to 6 wins. He's not turrible, but he's not got it in him to be a difference maker. I'll hold final judgement until EG gets n the floor and takes some of the pressure off of him.

On the other hand, Rivers was on the floor for over 41 minutes last night. I put this square on Monty. He had no business playing that much with the type of game he was having.

Who would you rather, Roger Mason? A guy like Roberts who takes away looks from your better players?

I'm convinced these guys are only on the roster to make Austin feel like less of a disaster.

Do you keep Rivers on he floor to help build his confidence, or let him play as a detriment to the team.

I think on most nights he looks over matched. He's got potential. He has a quick first step. His crossover going to his left is legit. But the dude puts up too many running one handed floaters. I'm not impressed on his overall ability to finish.

And no, sadly there aren't any better alternatives. Another reason we've only won 6 games.

He was hitting that runner early on last night. He just came up short late. I like that shot for him and I hope he keeps taking it.

He'll be a better defender in time and if he can find a pull up jumper and significantly improve his free throw shooting he'll certainly become an asset.

Has he struggled? Absolutely. But I think he's displayed that he can play at this level. Consistency will be the biggest thing for him.

Sorry if the facts get in the way.

I said I would save final judgement til Gordon returns, but If you're expecting for Vasquez to be anything more than an adequate, mediocre PG, you need to be checked for stupidity yourself.

We're not winning many games with this lineup anyway. Rivers at least provided some scoring last night (5 of 11 is pretty solid), just made some really stupid passes/missed some open guys. Mason played 11 minutes and didn't take a shot. Each is a terrible option for any team that wants to win games, so let Rivers get some playing time.

It all ends tonight, though!
