Child survivor of sandy hook shooting sues state for 100 million

LINK

They had a locked front door that the guy shot his way into. What did they want the school to do?

It sounds like the school took more steps than other schools in the US do.

Thoughts?

Do we know for sure he shot his way into the school?

And this is a pathetic attempt to try and take advantage of a tragedy.

While I wasn't there so I don't know, I have seen news reports that were printed after the facts came out that stated that the guy shot the glass door so he could get in.

On the other hand, might be the unfortunate downside to giving people freedom and responsibility. If you rely on people's sense of decency and justice, prepare to be disappointed.

Well looks like it may change the way schools are protected and protocols for emergency actions.

Not to mention that according to the Brady Campaign Connecticut has the 5th most stringent gun laws in the country. Not that gun laws do dick to prevent murder sprees but whatever. LINK

I would have thought the lawyers would have said no way will
I try and capitalize on this tragedy.

There's always a bottom feeding lawyer willing to take up the cause for greenbacks....

Now honestly, you wouldn't push your integrity just a bit for the chance at 40% of $100 million? We have sovereign immunity in our state that limits the claim but a bottom feeding lawyer would not be bottom feeding for long with a $40mm pay check.

If you throw enough bull shite against the wall some of it will stick. Any that sticks represents $$$$$.

No, I wouldn't. It is a fundamental flaw in those who purport to seek "justice" for money that morality or ethics are totally abandoned as part of that pursuit.

We'll all be judged one day and just because you did something that was legal doesn't mean it was ethical.

FWIW. I think you would have a hard time proving negligence on the part of the school board or principal. From the reports it seems like a protocol was in place and it was followed preventing more deaths.

So if you protect the rights of your client are bad, albeit inflated?

Thoughts?

I think if it was a plaintiff suing a big ole corporation that had done all they could to keep some harm from befalling a welfare individual, you'd be all like "throw the book at them!".
