Looking ahead at the schedule, I can see LSU finishing the regular season 17-12...

Houston Baptist 8-2
Bethune-Cookman 9-2
Auburn 10-2
Florida 10-3
South Carolina 10-4
Georgia 11-4
Texas A&M 12-4
Kentucky 12-5
Missouri 12-6
Mississippi St 13-6
Vanderbilt 14-6
Alabama 15-6
South Carolina 15-7
Mississippi St 16-7
Tennessee 16-8
Alabama 16-9
Arkansas 16-10
Missouri 16-11
Texas A&M 17-11
Ole Miss 17-12

Assuming no further suspensions for critical games, no injuries, some improvement overall, I think 20 wins is within reach. Might just be the homer in me though

Your thoughts?

I didn't realize we played South Carolina twice, but I certainly don't see us losing to them twice.

I tried to play devil's advocate there. I certainly think we're capable of at least splitting. The goal was to not be too much of a homer, which is my usual tendency.

Well, for that to be even remotely possible, Hickey cannot go anywhere.

All of my assumptions for potential wins and losses are based on Hickey coming back for the Auburn game.

I have nothing to back that up, it's what I'm hoping happens.

Yeah, I hope so but I don't see it happening.

Texas A&M we split and make us 13-5
Kentucky loss 13-6
Missouri we get swept 13-8
State we sweep 15-8

Yeah missed the second Alabama game

Changed my forecast to 17-12, with hope for better.

Most people on this site that follow hoops had us pegged at 17-12, including SouthofSouth.

I'd say that, and an NIT berth, would be meeting expectations for this season.

That's the most I feel we can hope for in the regular season. Hopefully get three wins somehow out of the postseason.

I'd consider that a major success! And I lol'd at you CTJ quote in your sig

It'll be really tough w/o Hickey. We need him from the get-go. We can't afford to sit him at the start of these bigger games b/c we fall behind. 20 shouldn't be a problem in the years to come though.

possible, but unlikely

I think they will finish over .500 overall and just under .500 in SEC play. They'll be good enough to be middle of the pack in the conference.

Seems like your countin on us winning every 50/50% game and every 1 or 2 pt. And every possible overtime game. Jus a stretch i think, only Notre Dame has that kind of luck! But i like th direction of the program.

Given the way we are playing I agree that 17-18 wins is most likely. Obviously there are a few wins we could take.

Away @ Georgia
Away @ Auburn
Away @ Miss State
Away @ aTm

will be winnable road games. If we can win 3 out of those we would be much closer to 20.

We will have 9 wins going into SEC play so we would need to go 11-7 in SEC. That would be tough. We play less games this year than in some seasons, so 20 wins will be even tougher. I don't know why we didnt play the 13 OOC games like most others are playing but we didn't. Sucks for us.

@ Aub (W)*
Fla (L)
SC (W)*
@UGA (W)*
aTm (W)
@UK (L)
Mizz (L)
@ Miss St (W)*
Vandy (W)
@ Bama (L)
@SC (L)
Miss St (W)
@Tenn (L)
Bama (W)*
Ark (W)
@Mizz (L)
@aTm (W)*
Miss (W)*

This is the most likely chance at 20 wins. I dont see us winning all of those. Would be a serious challenge.

It really sucks that LSU only has 29 games this year and every other SEC team has 31... TJ fricked us right there...
