When trying to set an account for my boys, they menu prompted a message that said a storage device was required to create an account. 
This console has 250 GB's of storage. Do I have to use a special thumb drive? TIA

No, the message pops up when trying to create an account. I'm new to Xbox 360. I'll check the settings out tomorrow.
