Who is going see the USMNT play in Houston in January? (Posted on 12/21/12 at 10:21 pm)
yo guys new to the board, but already love the fact that this soccer board is so active. anyone planning to go see the USMNT at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston next month? I just went to the USWNT game a couple of weeks ago and that new stadium is legit.

I made sure to get a front row seat near the U.S. bench for the game a couple of weeks back. Alex Morgan, Heather Mitts, and Kelley O'Hara had absolutely nothing to do with that though!

BBVA is my second home
did you go to the open practice the day before? I guess I can't complain too much considering it was free, but what a terrible job of fan interaction the team did! I went to the one (and game) in Frisco back in February and the players all usually spend at least 30 minutes or so signing and taking pictures, but in Houston most of the players didn't do anything and for the ones who did spent less than 10 minutes. It was also a pretty small crowd in Houston compared to Frisco and other cities.

Yeah I did. I was in the first row. The suits were telling the players to get to the locker room. So it wasn't the players. There was 15k at the game. Not bad for a cold Wednesday night IMO

15k wasn't "bad", but it wasn't good either considering the attendance they have been pulling all over the country in the last year. they have been averaging around 20k per game since coming back from the Olympics and back in February in Frisco they had almost 21k. there were a ton of empty seats in Houston. personally I think they did a pretty poor job of advertising the game in Houston. unless you're a fan, you wouldn't have even known the team was in town.
