Is it that these issues are treated as minor and it doesn't get much national attention (in other programs)?

I just don't see other programs having repeated problems with failed drug test like LSU is having.

I know many times people get all upset about things going on at LSU, but the fact is, many other programs go through the same stuff, we just don't hear about them.

I wonder if LSU goes above and beyond the testing required by NCAA. I recall synthetic weed wasn't even tested for by NCAA when TM7 was suspended last year. That was Miles or LSU being a good little soldier in the war on drugs and actively finding a reason to suspend its best player.

After the Akiem Hicks deal with the NCAA, LSU compliance has taken all matters out of the hands of Miles or anyone else for drugs, academics, etc.

LSU is taking a no tolerance policy now. I think it's the right way to go because if you don't police yourself in house the NCAA is going to make things far worse for your program.

You better police yourself going forward and show cooperation with the NCAA or the penalties will reflect covering up anything.

It is a problem with all major programs, and do you really think that synthetic week was what TM7, Ware and Simon were suspended for considering TM7 was busted with the actual thing a few months ago? That was just a cover story so it didn't sound so bad!!

Because that is what the early reports are "failed drug test," could be wrong but now what has leaked "probably from the athletic department" was that Wing missed the North Texas game because he was suspended because of a failed drug test. That is the Athletic Departments way of telling the world that Wing will not be back.

Did you know that "within" is a word? Or did you hyphenate it to look cool?

Hyphens are the new hash tags, get used of it.

Most times when I type I don't pay much to grammar. I know some people read through all post so they can sound the grammar alarm, but I usually don't proof read for mistakes. Now that you pointed it out, yeah why did I put a hyphen, but eff-it.

It happens all over the place.

The AP ran a huge article today about how steroids are becoming more popular and schools don't "test" for that either

I don't know, I'm just going by what we've been told. Synthetic weed is actually far worse than real weed by every measure anyway.

Probably pretty frequently. Not all schools report it as such; privacy rules, etc. The offending players just get procesed out under one pretext or another.

I'm starting to think Miles is the Heisenberg of marijuana in BTR.

Tmacelroy12 - yes it is college and yes people smoke weed in college. But the other students don't sign contracts awarding them a free education, scholarship athletes do. Even though these men are young men, they still have an obligation to uphold their end of the bargain. Do people make mistakes, obviously and they are given second chances "TM7, Ware & Simon" are great examples. But at some point to be a man you have to start acting like a man. What Wing did "if true" is freaking unbelievably selfish of him. He let his teammates, the coaches, the team and the University down and for that I hope the NFL takes note. I realize that smoking weed "if that is what it is" is not really any worse than getting drunk, but at this point in time it is illegal and if caught their are consequences for doing things that are illegal.

So the attitude of "it's college brah people smoke weed" is not acceptable because Wing signed a contract stating that he would not do things detrimental to the team and breaking the law is detrimental no matter what the offense is. He let the team and his teammates down when they were counting on him in a very big game on a National stage, and that is unacceptable especially if it is a second offense. Selfish SOB is what it is and what he is.
