PS3 crashes while playing Black Ops 2

Now i have the red blinking light wtf!!!!! Do I really have to send this thing back to sony?

Yep... Same thing happened to me when it came out. Long story short, 40gb fatty died and bought a 250 slim for 200$ online black friday deal. Sony will charge you $100 to replace with a very short warrant. Here's the thread on replacement options to save you some time: Link

I would beware buying a refurbished from a third party.

my fat 60 got a blinking yellow light. Sent it in and got a slim at the same time. People pay well for the backward compatibility.

I just bought a new PS3 when mine died. No point in paying for something that's a temporary fix.

I used a heat gun.

Lasted about a month and half after that. Also applied to thermal paste to the CPU/GPU.

It will work, but usually not for long. Can get a year or so tops in best cases.

If mine goes out, i dont even know if i would replace it. Since we're so close to next gen, or it at least feels that way, i might just wait. At least until june for the E3 show.
