| Good article on ESPN's CFB page about JUCO recruiting (Posted on 12/19/12 at 12:49 pm)
Beware of auto-play. LINK Talks about JC National champions Iowa Western. Not real in depth, but sort of interesting. Iowa Western has only had football for 4 years now and already has the program in position to compete for championships. This is obviously because they have good coaches that know what it takes to win on the JC level (getting players that D1 schools want). I've brought this up many times before, but if baffles me that Louisiana doesn't have one JC football program. It would benefit every school in the state. And if a school in Iowa can start from scratch and win a national championship in 4 years, I have to think a school in Louisiana could be competitive.

I agree with you ProjectP...now how about you make it happen...j/k...it would be nice if you had that type of clout to get it started though...it would serve the state well.

ESPN is finally investing into recruiting. With the new rankings, the nation sites, and now the juco rankings. They should be the main recruiting site with 24/7 in a few years

It all goes back really to the states preferance with their higher education system. Take Mississippi for instance they have a great expansive JUCO system setup a long time ago. Louisiana mostly due to polotics and how our state was populated, we have way more smaller universities. But I really do love the idea if say the JUCO's in LA being Baton Rouge CC, Bossier Parish CC, Delgado CC, Louisiana Delta CC, River Parishes CC, Nunez CC, South Louisiana CC, Sowela CC. I understand some of these schools dont even have athletic programs but it could be done like the school in Iowa did. LSU would never have to leave the state if they wanted to because the JUCO system would be loaded. The JUCO system in Mississippi have kept Ole Miss/Mississippi St. at least somewhat competitive. It can be done but there are so many FCS and smaller FBS schools it is not fiscally possible.

BRCC could literally be an LSU farm system.
