His scholarship was revoked because he did not qualify for early enrollment.
He also blew out his knee at a camp he was told not to participate in (The Vol Camp), and then lied about it to the coaching staff.
He had been in the dog house for quite some time.
It was as amicable parting as possible, but with limited scholies the Trojans are being very deliberate in who they take, and are in the hunt (and in very good position) for two more 5* recruits to potentially finish out their class.

Good choice by Massington. USC is becoming a school where talent goes to waste--prime example is this past season.
Also, I doubt the NCAA will agree to give them those extra scholarships like Kiffin seems convinced will happen--just like he was so convinced they wouldn't get sanctioned in the first place for the Reggie Buss situation.

Not so much a choice to leave USC for Massington as his offer was pulled. USC will be under the burden of NCAA sanctions for two more seasons, but after that (and hopefully a new OC) SC will be fine.
Normally I'd wish Massington well, but I have no time nor love for any bRuin.

Really? I don't think that's really a concern for us, to be honest.
As far as hiring a new coach, I'm all for it, but Kiffin's recruiting prowess and the fact that SC will be handcuffed for two more years will keep the best candidates at a distance.
