Understatement is your gift. Embrace it.

One has a growing audience and the other is on the brink of constant bankruptcy with declining circulation.

With a little luck and another batch of "generation morons", the old grey lady may survive.

Laughing at everyone in this thread going out of their way to let it be known how much they hate Limbaugh. He's probably right about the nfl, though.

You would do well in life if you stayed away from news like that, FOX News, MSNBC, CNN ect and open up a paper called the New York Times which acctually writes about the news instead BS opinions that are only stated to trash the opposition and further the gain of their own political party.

Um, not to go political on Saints Talk, but I'd be very careful in assuming that the goddammed New York Times is not politically motivated.

The truly best bet is to get your news from multiple sources, and meet in the middle. Thats probably where the truth lies anyways.

Alright, back to football.

What do you think about the possibility of a second league?

Mass politics anyone? Go back school and take history 1500-present and learn the base model that Fox News is built of off.

If you only follow things bc they are popular then you sir are a sheep or crow whichever you prefer. Have fun flying with the murder and falling victim to mass politics and group think.

Agreed, I was only giving one example and expressing how most printed media is vastly superior for a source of news when compared to televised media.

Havn't checked it out before but will

I dont think it will ever happen
while Goodell looks terrible after this I would hardly say that the NFL is on the decline like Rush. Goodell will be removed before that happens

Its not gonna happen until the product on the field becomes so bad the popularity wanes. Think Pro Bowl bad.

No matter how good college football can be, it still doesn't have the national and international draw that the NFL does. Hell, the Rams vs the Chiefs would still sell out Wimbley or Mex City. Dont know if Oklahoma vs Texas AM will do that. The last three Superbowls have been the most watched TV programs in history.

Now, if this bounty thing goes further south for the league via Vilmas Defamation suit, and they eliminate kickoffs, and then possibly have a unfavorable ruling in the concussion lawsuits that result in more rule changes (ala turning games into the Pro Bowl), you might see interest start to decrease.

I hate Rush Limbeaugh more than anyone in the world. And it really pains me to say this, but he is absolutely right about everything.

Rush rox! As usual, he is spot on.

There is definitely room for a new league...one that parallels older rules of the game. Stop with the rules that make porcelian QB's and glass Recievers. Let Defense play the way the game was intended to be played.

The current state of the NFL is the result of a monopoly that has no competition and can do what it pleases. We hve now seen up close and personal what the NFL Commisioner is capable of - plenty of ugliness paving the way to a potential corporate suicide.

If nothing else competition created by a new league would cause the NFL to buckle up it's own chin strap and get real about the game. Hopefully, over the long run the NFL would improve.

If anyone doesn't believe that look where the UFC has catapulted to these days. They totally stole the world of boxing...at least in the media and overall fan base.

Exactly.

The only way to fix this is to change the rules to allow bounty programs across the board.

The ratings would skyrocket.
