I hunt them quite often on my place. The does are hitting them now before dark.As long as the does are there the bucks will be close by.I'm hoping the bucks will be in them during daylight hours in a couple weeks.

How often would you say you see deer while on stand, and what percentage does v. bucks?

Thanks

Se the thread I started a few minutes ago "revelations". That buck was killed in a plain ole rye grass field.

I can honestly say I have never shot a buck just feeding in a food plot but, everyone that I've seen gut shot was full of green. I like them early season bow hunting and primitive. This time of the year they keep does around which keeps bucks checking the fields. I grew up hunting fields so 85% of my hunting hunted fence lines in fields.

This. If you can get a hot doe in the food plot, a lot of good things can happen.

I usually concentrate on them in the afternoons.

In the mornings, during the rut, I go to places that I know are highly traveled and look for scrapes and rub lines.

We usually hunt them when it gets cold, like now.

I've killed a few nice bucks but my Dad has killed a couple of really nice 10 pts on his food plot. Both of them just seemed to be cruising for does. One walked into the food plot like he had never seen it before.
