When people leave states like California, Illinois, and NY for economic reasons

why do they bring the dominant political views of said state with them?

It has always seemed silly to me that liberals and dems that flock out of Cali never seem to have any anger towards the party that is causing them economic hardship.

I have thought about this as well. Might sound crazy, but if I were Jindal, or Perry and had companies moving in from Cali, I would tell them upper management only....your smaller employees can stay there arse there.
But to your exact point, I have wondered this as well about people in general who are too dumb to see Govt. killed them. I consider them no less than a virus slowly eating away at Americas lively hood.

They have GREAT ideas, there was just poor execution of the grand plan. It will be different here.

We need to build a wall around California to stop them from coming into America.

Because Liberal ideas are progressive and compassionate and tolerant and open minded and cool and trendy. These are the characteristics that Americans care about. We are not a center-right country in our value system - not really, anyway. People don't care about facts. They care about how they feel and how they are perceived. Are they "cool"? That is the most important question of our lives - not are we wise or prudent or responsible or trustworthy. Can we throw a good party and do people like hanging out with us? THAT is more important and whether or not we have character and can build a decent life for ourselves and our grandchildren.

Or maybe the ones leaving are the few remaining conservatives in Cali.

I live in San Diego and I am a real estate investor. I have enough cash to leave and I am currently looking seriously at a few business friendly states where I can pick up and move to. I am conservative and HATE the fiscal and tax policies that continue to ruin this state. If I didn't love San Diego and have a bunch of properties I would already be out of here.

After the tulip bubble burst in the mid 17th century, why has man continually repeated the same mistakes even to our own time after continually having to relearn the same lesson time and time again?

Why, throughout history has man had to contend with lesson after lesson in dealing with authoritarians, strong men, big government, and heavy regulating powers, ending up in the very same fate, and yet still he reverts back to reliance upon government for his happiness rather than himself?

How is it that after all these years on this planet can we still look at history at man controlling man economically, spiritually, secularly, and influencing his own mind through manipulation and lies, convincing him it's for his own good, and still we don't learn that government isn't the answer, but the answer lies within us as individuals?

How is it that the principles and basis for our very own country are so quickly forgotten, and we return to our own vomit without pause or hesitation? That our founding fathers ideals are old fashioned and out of step, yet we are different and wiser with more experiences that they had, yet these were the same men who knew first hand the err of what heavy taxation, heavy regulation, and a strong centralized government could do to one's life and spirit?

Because people in general like to fashion themselves as enlightened and intelligent and every generation knows more that the previous ones, and every country surely won't go the path of previous countries following the same fate because they are they and they were them. In the end, I think we prove that we really aren't very smart after all. We're just really good at blowing smoke up our own arse and the asses of others, fooling ourselves and others in the process.

Now that is quite profound.

Really stated the problem well.

Because the next time a liberal acknowledges that their policies are the proximate cause of the things they left will be the first.

Liberals are the kings of creating a policy to fix a minor problem. The minor problem gets worse. Liberal perceives this as a need for MORE of their "solution".

What do you call a person who claims to be the world's intellectual superior, yet continues to demonstrate their inability to learn from their own mistakes?

People would rather believe in the lies that have a result that they agree with in principle(that is predominantly GREED and avarice or just all of those sin/commandment thingies outside of parents and God). Facing the truth of any and all matters is anathema because it is a very nasty and ugly bitch to look at in the mirror when they wake up.

In my experience, at least as far as California and New York are concerned, when people leave it is because of housing costs and cost of living. It is not necessarily, as portrayed here, that they feel "overtaxed" or that the government is too big.

High taxes are what drives up the cost of living.

So you think

quote:

housing costs and cost of living

have nothing to do with being

quote:

"overtaxed" or that the government is too big
?
