That would have been the coolest name in the league by far. "Pelicans" is too many syllables and doesn't roll off the tongue.

bc then i'd have an issue with it and it'd confuse the fanbase
voodoo is a great arena football name and a horrible NBA name

Only a non New Orleanian would have issues with "Pelicans." First off it's better than Hornets. It's an association to New Orleans and all of Louisiana. A Pelican is a far better bird than Falcon, Raven, Raptor, Seahawk. So here's a big  to you that haven't a clue.
I was down with Brass as my first choice but this one ain't as bad as the National Media is making it out to be
