The big news will be if he shows up. He's cancelled so many times now, everyone in recruiting is skeptical till he actually shows up.

I agree, but some people were skeptical if Gilmore would finally visit and that worked out well, if he shows up I think we get him.

Don't be so damn negative about this "edge". It's a relationship that LSU has with two people that obviously influence this kid's life to some degree, and it's with two of the defensive coaches on our staff. One of those coaches is arguably the best defensive coach in the country. So yea it is obviously a plus to have this relationship. Even 25 years down the road. I would think this actually is as good of an edge as any.

many players often refer to their coach as a "father figure". Maybe Willis' uncle referred to Chavis as a "father figure" and Haley as a "brother, uncle...insert other male family member".
Did your father have any influence on you 25 years ago (if you are that old)?

Most surprising thing in the article for me is that the race is down to two schools, LSU and UCLA. Jim Mora is quietly putting together a good recruting class.

I had quite a ways back written of Priest Wilis, but as things keep moving along I am starting to get a feeling (just a feeling) that maybe we are the favorite.
why the feelings:
1. If he is coming to LSU that is out of state and often those commits go unannounced until late in the game.
2. I am not hearing much in the way of lock news towards UCLA. Maybe I am just not hearing it.
3. Seems if he wasn't interested in really coming here and he was going to make a visit it would have been for a game and not between games.
I guess you can list me as hopeful again.
