Are there any places to go tent camping outside of houston, preferably towards the hill country? Somewhere that isn't packed, you can either drive or pack in, set up a tent, have a fire, drink a few beers. I'm willing to drive a few hours for a good spot.

Garner State Park. Little farther than a few hours but worth it.

If you did Galveston Island State Park you could wade fish right out back of the campsite if you wanted.

Mines a Duck/Goose lease in Palacios. But duck lease for me cuz I got 4 geese floaters hahaha!
