This is my first nickel Barrel gun. My dad has one of those nice gun cleaning kits someone bought him for his b day and he said there is oil in the kit for nickel. Anyone have any suggestions?

(Posted on 12/6/12 at 1:14 pm to INFIDEL) You don't want to use anything with ammonia in it, i.e. any copper solvents. CLP should be fine. Gunscrubber will get all the powder residue off with the help of a tooth brush. I'm sure a google search, looking for discussions, would help you find what you're looking for.

(Posted on 12/6/12 at 1:32 pm to Barry Badrinath) Just cleaned my .38 colt cobra that's nickel with clp and chrome polish. It's a white paste that does an outstanding job and doesn't mess up the finish. I clean my golf clubs with it as well. Try it out.
