There's a new rumor going around that he also might be Garth of Izar or whatever.
ETA:
From what little knowledge of the Star Trek Universe that I have, I'm going to go with Kahn because the line in the trailer is, "For I have returned to have my vengeance!" That sounds a lot like Kahn to me.
Also....the Japanese trailer gives us just a couple seconds of additional footage that points more toward Kahn than it does Gary Mitchell:

As for the villain, if they rebooted the series, don't you think they'd stick the second movie's villain?

They went on one or two dates and are supposed to be getting married...supposedly the movie script is done for Entourage, I hope it doesn't suck.
That chick is in everything lately...saw her in MIB3 recently.

Both Khan and Mitchell had female counterparts, so to speak, that were in star fleet so I'm guessing she is one of them depending on who the Villian is.

I was never a Star Trek fan, not of the shows or the old movies. But I have seen the reboot on FX several times, as it draws me in every time I'm flipping through the channels.
I'm actually looking forward to this movie coming out. I've never said that about a Star Trek movie before.
