Kind of surprised that no one has mentioned them for any openings

Doesn't Mullen have some ridiculous clause if he leaves MSU to stay in the SEC?

Hudspeth?

Shouldn't his team achieve more than a 3rd place finish in the Sunbelt before being offered positions in higher conferences? Back to back 3rd place finishes is not a resume builder.

I can see the comparison...Not really

Please don't insult us comparing the Sunbelt and the SEC

5th in what? The country? The conference? The division?

Unprecidented success and back-to-back bowl games at a school that has never experienced such a thing trumps where they finished in conference.

Hudspeth is going to do great things at an SEC school one day.

I think he's a great coach. The only reason I refrain from saying he'll be a great SEC coach one day (even though I think he would) is because you never know where his career will take him. I thought he'd be a good fit for the NC St job (I also think that program has a lot of potential).

I know most of his ties are to the gulf south, but that can be overcome easily by hiring the right assistants. He'll get his shot somewhere and be a force.

They've had success before. Back to back bowls games? Their schedule consists of how many wins over programs currently in or recently removed 1AA programs?

Getting to a bowl game is not what it once was. Hell! I'm thinking about starting a bowl game so the 80th and 81st team will not have their feelings hurt.

Hud is going to be a really good coach at a bigger school one day. SEC head job is his dream, and as much as we like him at UL-Lafayette, I hope he achieves his goal job one day. That would mean he brought us several years of success. Hopefully it also means he has built our program to a point where it is attractive to other up and coming young coaches looking to prove themselves.

Problem factor is Martin Hall, where too many of the Authement/Blanco boys who shackled our athletic program for years still work. Not confident in them not shitting the farm and screwing up the opportunity the Hud Era has given us.

Not to this level. That's why it is unprecedented.
