| Surviving the Titanic's Sinking (Posted on 12/5/12 at 11:40 am)
Or any other shipwreck in cold waters. My strategy would be to immediately start inhaling starchy and sugary foods to build energy supplies. Also plenty of hydration. Put on 2, or even 3 life vests then start pilfering floating stuff to build my own lifeboat. Regardless, I'm going into the water at the very last second. Is this a good strategy?

The strategy is never to take a cruise in Alaska

I'd love to see someone stuffing his face while on a sinking ship.

You have to get far enough away from the ship not to get pulled down with it when it goes under.

Lolz. Why would I be on a boat when I can take my private jet where I need to go?

no, you're gonna die. i fish in the winter, sometimes going out in the middle of the night in my boat in heavy fog, once you look into it, and see what happens to the body, it isn't a pretty way to go. not a hell of a lot you can do about it except don't enter the water when it's that cold to begin with.

i would run to the very back of the ship with the chick i was banging on the cruise, climb over the rails and wait until we are the very last ones in the water when the ship finally sinks .. then, we'll find a head board floating where i will, being the cavalier gentleman that i am, put said chick on it and float in the freezing water while i await rescue ..

this. probably only the top 20% were smart enough to figure this out, you'd be in the bottom 4% somewhere near the buffet on ur way to being sucked down and suffocating

Is this a large ship? If so, the current or undertoe from the ship sinking at the last moment would pull you so far under that all your prep would be useless.

I would get on top of a floating door and refuse to let the love of my life share it, EVEN THOUGH THERE WOULD BE PLENTY OF SPACE IF THEY JUST TRIED MORE THAN ONCE TO GET ON!!!

probably the only strategy that has a semi-legit chance of success tbh

Hypothermia. If you aren't in a lifeboat and you aren't dry you will not make it. It's just a matter of time and that time is short in those waters.

Never been on a cruise, huh? If the signal sounded to abandon ship, everyone would run to the buffet first to fill up..
