heeeeeey,
i'm old enough to be that Uncle!
yep, 80s were great: wicked music, Miami-Vice-girls-butts, cheezy sunglasses & the return of Star Trek.
What's so bad about being old geezers who luv ye olde 80s?!
Embrace the greatness of it.
--JUST like these ATM, er, A&M fans have 2 embrace the SEC West.

Alright d4mmitt, in all seriousness, I'd trade some of my best microbrew for seats at a real-NCAA-playoff right now that sent the Aggies to play, and demolish, those over-rated Dames-de-Notre.

heck I don't care if Aggie fans are obsessed & trolling here, they're an SEC team that gave us a serious game few months ago & same to Gators
& then whipped NickyBama on his home turf, -but thanx to
the preponderance of utterly-idiotic BCS/Bowl-mania,
those LameDAMES get some weird-BCS-respect for undefeated-joke-schedule?!

While down here in the SEC, JManziel & friends survived a b4dass schedule & knocked-off the team that will devour those LameDames
in the Nat'l Championship,
--aka "The SEC whoops-everyone Bowl."

ok, i gotta lend some more old geezer perspective here: as an 80's guy (ok, ok, more like grew up in 60s/70s, so that makes me a true ole geezer -- but previous comments got us off on a few 80s comments, c'mon,
u know how old guys like to ramble)..

As a 60s/70s guy , i grew up going to Tiger games with my folks, when we'd typically crush A&M, hence, not annoyed by their fans,
HOWEVER::
if Aggie fans overflow into Cowboy-fans, well, that's where the annoying-factor gets real.

Thus, i request any & all JerryFairyJones-stuff be kept outta here.

I've got friends n relatives all over Texas from the land of the OrangeHorns to
Houston & Big D,
and i can say with confidence that the most annoying fans, who can be
described as "fair-weather" or "we brag when we win but are in hiding when we loose" are typically JerryCowPoke fans.

Intolerable online, offline, u name it.

If it weren't for MO & other great LSU players who've been drafted and/or snookered into playing for Jerry,

I wouldn't be able to watch Cowboy games at all.
So it puts the pure-Aggie fans into a total, different category from my standpoint.

As a fellow LSU alum & old friend once put it, Longhorn & Cowboy fans, just like UGA fans, have an over-inflated view of their teams..
At least A&M plays competitive/tough schedule & they hold up to real football.

SEC west, the best of the best.

They'll come back down to earth next season when their two All American tackles bolt for the NFL, their center graduates, and Manziel is running for his life.

Do you really think there is a difference between immature college geek football fans between A&M and the rest of the SEC?

Let me take a wild stab in the dark and guess the majority of immature geeks from LSU think they are superior or less anoying.

The reason Texas A&M started being competitive with LSU in the 1990's was because they cheated. They were on NCAA probation for paying players during that period and the Aggies are proud of that? It's a fact that Texas A&M is one of the dirtiest football programs in NCAA history.

Aggies have always been this way. The attitude comes from a severe case of Little Brother Syndrome caused by having to play second fiddle to UT Austin. They are also arse ached because their biggest upset in decades was overshadowed by an even more impressive upset the following week by Baylor.

A&M: Where cheating and losing are good reasons to talk smack.

There's no 'lately' about it - ask Univ of Texas and anyone who lives in the Lone Star State.

aTm students are legion. They're the kids from high school with the pocket protector. The kids that were the target kid in dodge ball. The ones coming to class with a wet swirly. The ones who show show up at Star Wars conventions in full Darth gear and have fake light saber fights with Wookies.

They are just very.... different than the rest of us. And aTm is a magnet for them.

JFF and the Bama win makes them even more insufferable than normal.

People hated us with the Honey Badger stuff last season.

Let them have their moment. It is just a matter of strange timing, and they can't help it.
They joined the SEC in a year when Arkansas imploded due to its coach's personal behavior. Auburn's hiring of the incomeptent Gene Chizik was truly exposed. And A&M struck gold with Sumlin and Manziel.

They caught Alabama coming off of the game against LSU, and held on for dear life and a win. That was their one upset win in conference. Otherwise they lost at home to LSU and Florida, the only teams they were not favored to beat.

They deserve to crow given the reception they were given by fans of other SEC schools who had seasons worse than A&M's. And it won't stop until matters have been resolved on the field. The problem is that A&M is better positioned to sustain its success than Arkansas and Auburn are to correct their deficiencies. So SEC bragging rights might come down to how well Ole Miss and Mississippi State perform the next couple of years.

They had expectations of a Missouri like year, but they did so much better. Maintaining it when you have a target on your back isn't that easy.

Texas A&M is a sleeping giant living in a state with tremendous amount of high school football talent.

They remind me of LSU in 2001. Saban got us to over perform and then built up LSU's in-state recruiting program so we now keep 90 to 95 percent of our best talent.

Coming to the SEC and beating Bama this year, and playing all the SEC powers to a virtual stand still will pay dividends with their in-state recruiting.

The Aggies are for real and the SEC West now has Bama and LSU with the most talent, but A&M and Auburn are not far behind.

I expect A&M to start challanging Texas on an even basis for the lion share of Texas talent. When that happens, look out!

For whatever reason, Texas hasn't been interested in their football program enough to go out and get the best coaching talent money can bye. That may change if A&M starts out-recruiting the Longhorns in-state. Right now, the Aggies have a better coach than Texas.

This same thing has been said since humans first developed ears. It has never materialized. UT is, and always will be, #1 in the state of Texas with recruits.

Just go take a quick glance at the Rivals 250 list. It's littered with Texas commits or leans. The Aggies may see a small surge with the SEC move but they will NEVER supplant UT.
