I probably have company in the view that Bielema should be thanked for his performance, yet consider news of his exit to be welcome

Consider this contrast: Former coach and current Athletic Director Barry Alvarez not only resurrected an awful program two decades ago, but he routinely seemed to make excellent adjustments during games and excelled, when given time to prepare, at winning the biggest games, as he did in three Rose Bowls.

Not so Bielema.

His in-game decisions often seemed to perplex many fans I know. It is not just the fact that he lost the last two Rose Bowl games, but that he seemed to be outcoached each time

Paul Fanlund: To many UW ticket holders, Bielema’s exit will be welcome

Could just be sour grapes. It is worth noting that Bielema took the Badgers to three straight Rose Bowls, the first time in Wisconsin history that's happened, and only the third time in Big Ten history.

There are exponentially more Wisconsin fans that are shocked at the hire and sad to see him go.

To be fair, just about every fanbase does that when their coach leaves.

Yeah, that would never happen at LSU.

Lets see who they hire.

They better hope they hire someone just as good or better.

They'll prolly hire Chryst from Pitt, who was the OC under Bielema. It will be a safe bet that whoever follows CBB at UW won't win the Big Ten three straight times.

DC at Wisconsin, I don't think so!

Consider this contrast: Former coach Nick God Saban not only resurrected an awful program two decades ago, but he routinely seemed to make excellent adjustments during games and excelled, when given time to prepare, at winning the biggest games, as he did in thousands of SEC Championship and NC games.

Not so Miles.

His in-game decisions often seemed to perplex many fans I know. It is not just the fact that he won the SEC twice, has a NC (thank God he had Saban's players), and is one of the most successful coaches in LSU history ,but that he seemed to be outcoached each time

Now it sounds just like LSU fans
