Theyre trying to get confirmation, but Tracy Rocker may be headed back to Auburn as DC, and the Chad Morris interview may have been for the OC position.

Why would Chad Morris go there? Lateral move for a job with no control? Doesn't Malzhan call the plays? Rocker is a great recruiter but is he DC worthy?

Morris is great friends with Malzahn and knows the offense like the back of his hand. As for Rocker, I'm not sure, but it could be why the committee was in Nashville. That's where the Titans are.

Chad Morris would have a guaranteed 3 years with Malzahn. Dabo's time at Clemson may be about to expire. Morris doesn't want to be on the staff that gets axed. And he becomes the hottest coordinator, up-and-coming coach at Auburn. Would not be a lateral move from the prospective of his career decisions.

the play from their D-line dropped off a ton when Rocker left to go to the Titans. I don't know how good of a DC he would be though. He's proven to be a good D-line coach though. At some point guys get their shot, this could be a good move if it happens.

I thought Morris was a candidate for smaller conference HC jobs. He's already an up-and-comer. Malzhan is an offensive coach/play-caller. Dabo is not. Morris controls the offense for Clemson. Dabo also led Clemson to a good season this year despite losing to USCe. Is his job in jeopardy? Maybe I'm wrong IDK

Chad Morris was never interviewed and why would he leave for Auburn?

BVG would be my choice without Pelton or Martinez. Would Rocker return to coach D-line

bullshite Morris will get a shot at HC in 2 years max. No way he's going to jump to the same position at another school now.

Que? Back-to-back ten win seasons aren't the norm at Clemson, FYI. Dabo has at least a few more years there.

Axed for winning an ACC title and back-to-back 10 win seasons? Yeah, that makes lots of sense.

My thoughts exactly. Malzahn doesn't need to spend Chad Morris type money on an OC. He should use that on defense.
