If they still had Mike Brown or Phil Jackson I would say this trade never happens. But now, I think Smith can flourish in LA with D'antoni, Nash, and Bryant.

What would the Hawks serve to gain by making this trade? Also, that's the only source I've seen saying that a trade went down. Here's a quote from an article published not 10 minutes ago:
