I would agree... technology ever changing and the mixing of genres to form new genres is exciting.

This list has a lot of big hitters, do not be fooled/ Digweed, Sasha, Carl Cox, among others. All were big time DJS on DJMAG just a few years ago.

Check out this list vs BPM. This festival is one of the best on this side of the world.

I can't even begin to tell you how fun and cheap this is.

Ritchie Hawtin is part of the big "second wave" of Techno coming out of the Detroit area. Remember, Techno was invented in Detroit. House in Chicago. This discussion really puts the emphasis on how behind we are with "Mainstream EDM". This list is the most in demand DJs in the world. Sure, AVB and Tiesto have their draw, especially with newbies, but these are the guys pushing the genres. Give a listen to some of them. I see Techno, Minimal Techno, Tech-House, House, Minimal House, Nu- Disco, Trance, Techtrance, Breakbeat, Electro- House, and Future Garage. Globally DMB is Dubstep and Brostep don't exist.

I'll definitely give them a listen. Who should I DEFINITELY give a listen to? Ritchie Hawtin? Anybody else? FYI: I don't box myself in, but I tend to prefer progressive house. My favs are Arty, Sander, and Aviici.

I agree with your last sentence. It's exploding. It's awesome.

Try Lee Foss and Eats Everthing. I love Cassy's form of house/tech house.

Not a lot of DnB In Ibiza or really England for that matter. I was is Manchester in Sept and mostly bumped in to garage. Kick arse garage. We don't get much garage here but the US is keeping DnB alive for now. Dallas has a sick scene. Denver has a few weeklies.

I've been going to this since it's inception. fricked up Germans and Mexicans for 9 days on a beach is surreal. We stay at the The Haj and get a penthouse with a private chef for around 300/night. Between four of us it's a steal. We spend 10x more easily in Ibiza every year.

i bet. buddies of mine rent a villa on the Mediterranean every year to go party in ibiza. place looks unreal. i dont even want to know the pricetag and how much they spend going out.

they do the same for wmc in south beach. i havent been in a few years though. theyre a pretty wild group who spend money like its their job

The WMC pisses me off. Ibiza prices in America. Ultra was better on the beach. Much better show in Detroit now with DEMF/Movement.

oh its ridiculous. all i usually pay for is my plane ticket there. they always get a bed at Bed. bill usually runs around 6k. vip table at space and drinking runs around 3-4k. vip table at delano pool party 2k. private area at nikki beach whatever $$. condo on the beach is 1k/night. all the other shite is expensive as hell also. its absurd

i go out a few nights by myself because im pretty much the only one that listens to dnb. i just drink some beer and get a cab so its not real expensive.

We did Ibiza for ten days 2000-2011 and budgeted around 25k for two of us. This year were there for only 4 nights and went Reykjavik, Berlin and Amsterdam. It was cheaper and way more fun. The women in Reykjavik were the most beautiful I've seen. We had to come up with a new grading system. "That's a 10.2....oh look a 10.6".

I honestly don't remember the name.

Demf/Movement in Detroit rivals anything I've seen overseas. Stay @ the Marriott a walk 5 mins to the main stuff and the afters are out of control old school style. Abandoned warehouses and weird basements. Sketchy and frick and fun. Perfect for Techno.
We are in our third year of the Great American Techno Fest here in Denver and this place is wild. We have 8 events this Saturday alone.
