Clemson lost their only two tough matchups all season.
Many dont regard them as a top-tier team.
They are what they are. And we are expected to beat them, handily.

Honest truth is no one considers Clemson elite and no one will be overly awed by this matchup. If LSU wins the game it will be discussed briefly on New Year's Eve and forgotten about the very next morning when the big batch of bowls play. This isn't like the 2005 Miami game.

it won't secure it, but it is necessary for that to happen, along with other games playing out right. LSU best be ready, I do not think Clemson is a cupcake like Towson, oh wait..
