Anyone else playing this?
The missions and maps do tend to be a tad linear, and the special X-Com Assignments are predictable, but overall it feels like a worthy legacy game of the original, much moreso than any of the old PC sequels.

Glad I bought it on sale. To few maps and it get's repetitive, imo.

In a way, it's also a hat tip to the original; variety in maps is good, but continually unpredictable tactical situations is the bread and butter of the series.
That said, I still haven't decided the best way to tackle the tech tree or base layout.

Stack uplinks. Satellites are so crucial fir keeping countries from leaving the project. Have to plan out who to launch over and when depending on global panic increase/reduction events.

I tend to stack absolutely everything; I have 4 block columns or quadrants for just about everything, depending on where the steam is available.
I put one of a kind facilities in a cluster too, so they don't break up my bonuses. Containment, Foundry, Etc.

I read somewhere else that they released the first DLC today for $7, sounds like it's pretty meh though.

There is actually a redemption code for DLC with the game itself; you can buy it without the code, but today's is actually the second DLC bit.
