You know how certain teams' fans are stereotyped? That has been the case with LSU. Up until very recently, LSU fans were perceived as the Stiffler, the Spicoli of the college crowd. Loud, rowdy, crazy party fools, going to dominate in any environment.

What are we now? We're acting like whiny, self-pitying wimps. We have a couple Clemson trolls trying to spark some action on these boards, and the overwhelming reaction has seemed... well, you can visualize it. We are laying in bed crying with the pillow pulled over our heads. Clemson fans banging on the door saying let's go out and see what you got, and we are answering "go away, leave me alone".

This isn't LSU. We should already be over whatever perceived snubs we've gotten, not pouting. We should be ready to blow the Clemson fans' minds and drink them under the table, so they recall their matchup with awe. Instead, we're coming across as spoiled bitches.

Remember when we played Miami in 2005 at the peach? We were stoked at the matchup (as Clemson likely will be). Miami fans said they didn't care since it wasn't the title game... let's not be like that.

Raw deal this bowl season... maybe. But we can still remind the other bowls what they missed out on. Let's regain our edge as a fan base and rock Atlanta this New Year's eve.

it's a good bowl game.

We wouldn't have even played texas in Dallas, so there's no point in bitching.

Playing a big10 team in florida would have sucked.

I recommend that the bowls switch the many bowls of sec vs big ten matchups anyway.

I agree 100 %.

I agree 1,000,000 %. The fanbase is WAY TO spoiled and act like they are entitled to something, more than other schools that are just as good.

good point....many here would rather bitch and moan than get it on with Clemsom. in the bcs world, all bowls games are only as meaningful as you make them. the team deserves the game with all it's perks and the staff gets to teach for another month. it's up to the fans to support the program or jstfu and get on with their lives. Clemson will be there....will Tiger Nation?

I'll approach this bowl as I have every other Tiger game for the last three decades: tense, drink in hand, forever entertained.

According to who? Just because some fans are whining about the matchup? That isn't representative of our entire fanbase and if you think TD/TR is a true representation of the LSU fanbase then you are way out of touch. I talk to LSU fans all the time who have never heard of TD/TR and really wouldn't have the time to read and post here.

LSU and its fanbase will be ready come bowl time.

Screw all of you! I'm excited! Clemson is a good matchup for us and I only have to take MARTA to get there!

LSU fans still have that reputation. It's only Rantards that have the whiny designation. /end thread

The bowl matchups are so pathetic, this is actually one of the more interesting ones.

Why? So it can be "cool"? Not my intention.

A lot of fans are looking at this the wrong way; that we're not getting the premier destination and matchup, so it isn't worth being in.

Wrong. The truth is (or SHOULD BE, for a true Tiger fan), the premier destination is- wherever we may be. Who we play isn't important, because they will be playing US.

As a fanbase, the one thing we control is how we are perceived. It's our input into the experience. We can make Atlanta and the other fans think "wow, that's how it should be done", or "jeez, what a bunch of pricks". Traditionally, the impression we leave others with, is the stuff of legend. I once knew a Gator alum who commented that LSU fans had better parties while changing a flat on the side of the road, than he'd seen at other schools' rivalry games.

We shouldn't lose that.

That's right I like the match up. I mean playing Northern Illinois in the Oragne Bowl must suck for FSU>
