Cubs steal Astros color man

While I've always found Bill Brown to be extremely boring as the PBP guy, I think Deshaies is pretty solid as a Color guy. He will be a nice addition to the booth in what will be another long year of cubs baseball

If I were broadcasting 162 Astros games, I would find another line of work. That organization went to shite real fast and it looks like another 3-5 years of losing. Broadcasting those games would suck and be boring as frick.

When you watch over 100 games of a bad team, you need a great broadcast team. Brownie and JD were just that.I hate to see that duo broken up. I'm thinking Brownie will be gone too. Brownie had contemplated retiring and would take time to consider it.
In the Cubs.com article, JD says it was a good time to leave because Brownie was talking about scaling back. If you're considering retirement and your partner of 15 years leaves, its likely you'll just call it a career.

Hafner is washed up and Pena is passed his prime. If we're gonna go for a hitter who strikes out a ton and struggles to hit .200, I'd like to see them sign Mark Reynolds.
