Anybody here use a culti packer? I have had pretty good success with just a disc behind my 4 wheeler then broadcasting seed. But am considering getting a culti packer for next year. Before I buy it, I want to hear from those that do use it. Does it make a difference and does it really help push the seed into the ground.

Thanks for the feedback

I use an old burned up bedspring. It works good and the plots sure are pretty.I would imagine the c packer would be better but I'm to cheap.

Get about two or three old tires rigged up as a drag after you plant. Best homemade drag I've seen. No need to spend the money on a cultipactor

We till with a tractor and spread with a small broadcast trailer behind the 4wheeler. We seed first and then fertilize over the top. That's the only packing our seeds get and we always have had great foodplots. Been doing it that way for 20 years.

I put the teeth on the box blade and angle it so the blade doesnt touch. Digs nice little trenches like a tiller then I broadcast seed an wait for rain. My plots are usually pretty small though.

If your going to spend money on something. I'd suggest a rototiller. Probably the most badass thing i've ever pulled behind my tractor. Ot made the soil like the surface of the moon, broadcasted seeds would sink a 1/4 of a inch from being slung. Plits look awesome too.
