| A Christmas Story 2 (Posted on 12/2/12 at 6:49 pm)
I got a free Amazon On Demand credit and decided to rent this. I thought since it had Daniel Stern playing the old man, it couldn't be too bad. I was wrong. They use the same gags as the first movie (furnance, wrapping Randy up in clothes, picking up bad language from dad, etc). Very unimaginative. Basically this time, instead of wanting a gun, he wants a car.

He also puts car hints in magazines, saying oh fudge, and it has the dad bargaining over cars the same way he did over xmas trees. So cheap. I do like the period piece aspect of it, though.

It was essentially free since Amazon gave me $5 digital bucks for choosing slower shipping option.

there are several movies based off the short stories that inspired A Christmas Story. not a big deal aside from the lazy tack on of 2 to the title.

The 2 greatest Christmas movies got sequels. Both were terrible ideas.

Yea I saw it on Friday. Same gags from the original. plus when you have a movie like a Christmas Story its hard to see other actors in those roles. I couldnt get past that. Daniel Stern was way over the top as the old man and the kid who played Ralphie just looked weird. Won't watch again.

The movie was too slap sticky. You'd think they'd try to capture the same feel the first movie had. Way too over-the-top. I also don't get why the hell his friends decide to give Ralphie his savings and get jobs to pay for the damage when he was the one at fault. They had no reason to do so.
