Question for any Ranters who are familiar with Bowl Committees. I have always been under the impression that the Bowl can pick whoever they want to. As some of the reports that are being reported here from AJC, Jacques Doucet, GG Etc. How can Slive strong arm a Bowl committee into picking who he wants. Does anyone know the ansere. Ive always thought that the Bowl Committees are supposed to be free to pick who they want. Anyone have some insight on this? TIA

The function of Bowl Committee members is to wear loud sport coats, travel the country watching premier college football games on somebody else's dime. They have sweet expense accounts, luxurious accomodations, first class airfare or private jets, company cars and or limousines, and 5 martini lunches.

And for five minutes on the first weekend in December, they have a conference call and decide who plays in their shitty game.

Thanks, sounds like a book I need to read. Went to law school with a fellow that later became a member of the selection committee for the Independence Bowl and what you are saying does seem to sum it up .
