| First Play of the game last night set the tone... (missed opportunities) (Posted on 11/30/12 at 1:53 pm)
First play of the game last night Jenkins was in a perfect position to get an int, but somehow let the Atlanta WR catch the ball. Thereafter, Atlanta marches down the field and scores a TD. Had Jenkins made that first play, Saints would have had the ball at the 25 yard line and it could have changed the entire game. From that point on, it just seemed like we could never take advantage of anything. I still think the Saints are a good team and it just wasn't their night. Let's just sit back and enjoy the rest of the season. We still got a shot...

Hell Jenkins could have taken that to the house. Could have been 7-0 Saints 10 seconds into the game.

I liked how the D responded after that early onslaught. We were getting off the field a ton on third down. We won the time of possession, but ended up making too many mistakes on offense... But I agree, the one thing we didn't do on defense was get the turnovers. the fumble by Turner was too little to late and it didn't matter because Brees got picked off again after that.

Don't get me wrong,I think te defense play great last night; best game of the season for the defense. It was just those missed opportunities that hurt. If the defense had played like that in the begining of the season, then we would have started the season 4-0. It is clear the players are starting to understand the new defensive system, which gives us something to look forward to next year. (But this year is not over)

I am with you, looked like it was going to be a pick and ran back for a touchdown for a second then Gonzales some how still completes the catch.
