What he's saying is that once the College regular season is over, the NFL adds games to Saturday, and that is sufficient. Thursday night games are unnecessary.
I agree - I hate Thursday night games after playing on Sunday. For one, the NFL Network's commentators are pretty bad. Why would a Commissioner who is "concerned with player safety" want Thursday night football and an 18 game regular season? Oh wait... he isn't.

Goodell is worried about player safety and has teams playing on a short schedule. Thursday night games are bullshite and should be put out of its misery.

I don't like it either and have been bitching about it all season. It marginalizes Sunday/Monday matchups......the NFL shouldn't be played like MAC football.

There is no time for the rest/practice/gameplanning etc that needs to go on between games when you have a Thursday game, especially if you have to travel for it. It's stupid and this "every week there's a thursday game!" was strictly to try and force people into getting the NFL Network.

Perhaps if they are going to do it they should schedule teams that had the bye week giving them a 11 day rest instead of 14.

I actually agree. Said it after week 2 when I realized every week was going to have a thursday game. Its ridiculous. The only thursday games should be the opener to the season and thanksgiving. Its ruining the competitive balance of the league.

Calling for every team to get a thursday night game and every team gets a second bye week the week before the thursday game since Goodell is worried about player saftey

I like the Thursday night game, but the league needs to make adjustments to allow for the players to rest and prepate.
The NFL needs to add one more week to its schedule and have each team with two bye weeks. Teams playing on a Thursday night should be required to have a bye week prior to the game.
