How is that a surprise? REALLY rich people want people in power that will grow government, exempting them from taxes and other fees. The rich stay rich, and create/maintain barriers to competition, usually in the form of regulations.
The only way for rich people/corporations to not own government power is to make government not worth controlling. Simple laws, simple tax code, simple regulation. For some reason liberals can't see that larger and larger government helps the people they say they hate.

The richest, whitest people in the US are democrats. The wealthy like to see higher income taxes on the 'rich' because they have already grown their wealth and many only pay capital gains taxes on income.
Income taxing the rich helps them keep more of their wealth and keep others out of their elite class.
