Murphy was a gold glove center fielder, Bagwell was a first baseman.

Murphy came up as a catcher, it was his 4th year before they moved him to the OF.

His peak was in the outfield though

Biggio came up as catcher as well and ended his career as an outfielder.

He's still a 2nd baseman, in my eyes.

I agree without a doubt, a poster was comparing the defensive postions between Murphy & Bagwell

He should be IN the HOF. A shame he is not. As well as Jack Morris. If I needed a pitcher in his prime to win A game 7. Morris is it.

I like Bagwell. But lets be honest, if anybody juiced, it was Jeff Bagwell.

I would vote DM in - he was the best of his era. His great downfall was the combination of fading hard at the end of his career and coming right before the steroid era

he was an amazing player and deserves to be in a lot more than the steroid era guys who have inflated numbers - the Dale Murphy kind of guy is the type who has been most hurt by the steroid cheats (and that's most of MLB)
