Mike Cooley, known for his work with Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers, has announced the release of his debut solo album The Fool On Every Corner. The release was recorded by renowned DBT producer David Barbe over a three-show run in Atlanta and Athens, Ga. This stripped-down live release includes eleven fan-favorites, a cover of Charlie Rich’s “Behind Closed Doors,” and one new song. Through most of the recording, Cooley abandons the guitar pick and plays through the set with his fingers. This kind of detail is part of what makes the album so special. You can listen to the new track from the album, “Drinking Coke and Eating Ice,” in the player below. Be sure to look out for The Fool On Every Corner, which will be released on Dec. 11.
I went to one of the shows at the Earl in Atlanta back in February, and it was one of the better concert experiences I've had. Really looking forward to this record.

Well yeah, but having them produced and not just straight SBD/Crowd matrix mixes will be really nice.
