Hell of a job by George Bass to pull this one off. He not only gets Miles a raise and extension by doing all this he now has more pull to get Gary Patterson more money at Arkansas because now other candidates have a contract to compare to what Arkansas was "offering"....Hell of a job...AGENT 101 right there.. :golfclap:

Patterson isn't leaving TCU, it's that simple. This thread is dumb.

Who to say it wasn't Patterson's all along?

He has a game this weekend, and now has the rest of the week to mull it over before direct contact can be initiated.

looked into that this morning when I discussed this with others...supposedly he was going to be on the staff at UH...but still doesnt explain why he needs an agent.

Supposedly was only gonna make 55K at UH...but 99K to be HC and AD at Desoto...

I came here to post this, after getting the text about LSU's school announcement.

This tells me that Patterson already has accepted the Arkansas job.

Congrats to them.

Should make our opener next season maybe a little easier.

Patterson would be great. I still hope (not think) it's Petersen. Never believed that the LM talk was serious, but it was a well played smokescreen that gives an old friend a raise and costs a rival more money. Well played Jeff Long. Well played. People (mostly up here) don't give this guy enough credit.

Saturday after the game, Les Miles was in Jeff Long's office. While there, Les called up his friend and former employee, Mike Gundy.

It will be Mike Gundy.

Bass is also the agent for TCU Coach Gary Patterson, who was thought to have emerged as the leading candidate for the Arkansas job. When Patterson made it clear he was staying in Fort Worth, the attention switched to Miles through Bass, a source said.

The way I see it, agent George gives Long some concessions in their deal for Patterson, if Long helps George with Miles and LSU.

Happens all the time. Obvious is obvious.

That's why I say Patterson is Arkansas' man. I am a little surprised by it, though.

No that doesn't happen all the time. That would be a conflict of interest and a breach of fiduciary duty.

Heck, I'll go so far as to say that if this Bass guy is also an attorney as well as an agent, Patterson most definitely IS NOT a candidate at Arkansas if he was really playing footsie with Jeff Long about Miles. It would be a pretty clear cut conflict of interest if Patterson and possibly Miles wanted the same job.
