Arkansas has not offered Les Miles
Pete Roussel on November 27, 2012
A source with direct knowledge of the situation has informed me tonight that Arkansas athletic director has NOT made an offer to LSU head coach Les Miles.
A report from the website SportsByBrooks.com first reported a 5-year deal was on the table for Miles to become the head coach of the Razorbacks.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune claims they can confirm the information is true. According to Jim Kleinpeter, Miles has been offered 5-years and $27.5 million.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette told the Times-Picayune tonight, "It's been brought to Les' attention and he didn't have anything to say."
I can confirm, however, that Miles has not been offered the job, nor has he been approached by Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long.
Long expects to name a coach within the next 8-12 days.

And Sports By Brooks trolls TD/SECr once again. Why people around here still believe that guy is beyond me.

He doesn't have to be approached by long. A search firm can contact Miles' agent. I think Les stays but just because Long hasn't contacted Miles doesn't mean he hasn't contacted Miles' agent.

Not saying we can trust Pete Roussel, but he DOES say that "he can confirm that Miles has not been offered the job."
edit: BTW, Roussel was on campus a few weeks ago speaking at a booster meeting or something like that. Would be nice if Long and he struck up a relationship during that time to keep me off the ledge.

And Sportscenter, they gave a whole 3-5 minute segment to the darn at the lead of their show.

Doesn't mean that Long hasn't engaged Miles's agent.
How influential is Jerry Jones in this search? Miles used to coach for the Cowboys at one point

Nor does the SBB report mean that Long HAS engaged Miles' people.

So, Miles got his raise and turned them down?

I still can't believe Sports by fricking Brooks started all this shite. Did anyone learn anything from Camgate about this guy. He is a dumbass.

Correct.
The only people right now who know for sure what's going on are Long, a few folks in the athletic department, the president, some boosters, and the agents of coaches. And I dont think anybody is concerned about validating the media's stories on their search.

No, not offered, just asked if he would entertain the idea for a specific amount.

Not by long himself, but through others.
Its all semantics.
