Les Miles makes about $1.5 mill per year less than Mack Brown or Bob Stoops

Its clear that he is in their class if not better. Oh and he's also the 2nd winningest coach in the history of the school via total wins and first via winning percentage (minimum 20 games)
Pay him. Pay that man his money.
Pay him. Pay that man his money.

He can win a national title and be the highest paid coach in the country.

And Mack is about to get fired/resign. I would say no to the shakedown.

I don't need to do research because I remember that.
Not sure why it's relevant at all though. Horrible argument.

Lol I live in Austin and not only is that far from a done deal but the fact is that our program is on so much more solid footing than theirs right now underscores how underpaid Les has been.

I'm noticing a tendency here: a lot of the posters who tend toward liberalism on the Poli Board are in favor of paying Les whatever he asks.
You guys just can't help yourselves. Spending other people's money freely is pretty obviously ingrained in you.

What the frick are you talking about?
You say pay the man? They did in 2011 when they gave him an extension. If you can't meet the certain stages of a contract to get the bonuses, whose fricking fault is that? Certainly isn't LSU.

Nice rebuttal. Would read again.

yes Arky, pay him!

I read somewhere that he's the 5th highest paid coach in the country. That's appropriate, IMO. And like others have said, he has built in incentives to considerably increase his salary.

The market is changing because of new tv deals, conference realignment and the new playoff system. You've got all this new money coming in, you don't refuse to give a highly performing employee a raise just because he got one two years ago and he's now being offered said raise by a competitor.
Why in the world would you risk everything on an uncertain coaching search that very likely will give you a replacement that wins fewer games? It just doesn't make sense.

actually, i think this is more capitalism. man gets paid what he can get. supply and demand.
lm has been making lsu a very rich football school (the richest) for eight years now.
if lsu football was a business, would you listen to idiots like you?
p.s. did you notice that your party got the shite kicked out of them last november? maybe if you had got your brains kicked out, you would understand how the world works.
p.p.s. i don't do politics (like svp), but i love people like you who try to make a point w/ stupidity.
