| Lacked a big, physical go to prime time receiver this year (Posted on 11/26/12 at 7:32 pm)
After seeing RR suited up for the Giants last night, it occurred to me how much we miss without a player like him. Our receivers are good, and Landry might be my favorite player, but we lacked a player like: D Byrd Lafell Tolliver Early Clayton R Randle Don't remember the last time we didn't have a guy like that. Are we recruiting a big strong burner?

Early is similar size to Landry and OB3 ETA: but I definitely agree

Clayton is 6'4". OBJ and Landry don't compare at al to him. Similarities to Josh Reed as far as size sure. But to compare him to Clayton just isn't true. Clayton, Bowe, Buster Davis, Terrance Tolliver. Definitely could have used a 6'4, 6'5 wide out this year.

My question is this: if the receivers hadn't dropped as many passes, would we still be having this conversation?

I thought Early was 6 ft 1 200+, and seemed solid. Saw Landry as 5 ft 11 under 200 in his rivals listing? OBJ doesn't come across as that big.

Forgot about Bowe. He epitomizes the type of player I am referring to. my point. Anyone know if we're recruiting a protoype NFL receiver like those guys?

You mean like Quantavius Leslie and Courtney Gardner?

How tall is Avery Johnson? I heard he's pretty tall.

Losing Randle was a big setback. The biggest of all arguably.

Yep Leslie and Gardener both have Juco experience as well, hopefully Leslie will play up to hype and go off next year and give us that missing option we could have used this year! Pair all this with a STACKKKED backfield and Mett as a SR with a full year of SEC play and we could be looking at a Ship!

Rueben Randle: 13 catches, 184 yards, 1 touchdown. Definitely should have came back to LSU for his senior year. With the hype he had coming out of high school I thought this guy would have been unstoppable at LSU....Grant it we didn't have the quarterback to throw the ball. With that being said, I still feel as if he underachieved at LSU.
