So I recently purchased my first rifle (an M4 carbine style) and even now am learning a ton about rifles.
One thing I hadnt learned a lot about is mid length vs. Carbine. I have read up a lot about the differences.
What is the OB's take on this?

I like short rifles unless I'm trying to shoot 300 yard beer cans.

This rifle I bought is for fun, home defense and SHTF.
I had just read that carbine length gas systems are rougher on the BCG and such.

I prefer the mid length on a gas impingement system.
I read something about the pressure curve on the carbine length not being as effective...This was why I got the Mid-Length on the piston.
