That game definitely counted but you gotta admit that the muddy conditions was more detrimental for us than for Penn State. We were still playing that dink and dunk offense under Crowton so we relied heavily on getting the ball to our receivers in open spaces but their play-making ability was severely negated by the mud pit that they called a football field. Our top 3 RB options were all injured so we were down to our 4th string RB Ridley. Playing in sloppy conditions dictates a heavy dose of running with the football but we were at a huge disadvantage in that department given the depth chart. The game counted but everything was working against us that day.

I didn't know that the NCAA removed that game from the record books.

Frankly the offense against PSU looked the same as it had most of the year. 2009 was a pitiful year for our offense. Worst OL I can recall.

It doesn't. How many times is this going to be brought up.

We have a loss.
They don't have a win.

It's just that simple.

That game was a sham. Especially the Penn St. player laying on our guy so we couldn't get the ball snapped then the ref's give Tbob a penalty for dragging him off our player.

That was Les Miles' worst year in run offense. The pass offense didn't put up big numbers but JJ didn't throw very many int's that year. Losing Richard Murphy, then Charles Scott, and finally Keiland Williams was brutal. Ridley had to step in and his play had mixed results. The advantage that we had was big and speedy WR's but they had to run their routes and get their YAC through mud. That game came down to who had the best running game and Jefferson/Ridley was no match for Daryll Clark/Evan Royster.

I mostly remember our undersized OL getting no push against any defense and it didn't seem to matter who was at RB.
