So last week I went to Game Stop looking for a new XBox360 game. Obviously I was considering Black Ops, but when I saw Assassin's Creed III I thought why not try something different... I had heard great things about it.

Has anyone else been as disappointed as I am with this game? It is absolutely mind-numbingly boring. I have probably eclipsed 2 or so hours of gameplay time, and it seems like all you do is ---

1. walk around
2. press B
3. cutscene
4. walk around

Rinse and repeat.

Does the game get better or should I just go return it for Blops?

No. It is boring for a long while. Not sure why they made this one gameplay so slow vs the previous titles. It was a letdown for me. None of them have lived up to ACII yet.

Story sucked, but I have had fun doing the naval missions and side quests. ACIII has alot more side quests and exploring to do than the other titles did. I actually thought Brotherhood was a better game than ACII...

The first few hours of the game are VERY "linear" gameplay and plot wise. It is meant to setup the story. After that, it really opens up and turns into the open world AC that past games have been.

At least give it enough time to where you have actually started the main campaign and played a while after that.

I'm still walking around in Boston with Hatham and Charles eavesdropping on people. How far would you say that I have to go?

Without trying to spoil anything, if you are still playing as Hatham than you are still playing basically the "prologue", that I was referring to.

I can't remember exactly how long you have to go, but it shouldn't be a ridiculously long time until you get to the main story line.

Stick with it, it does open up.

Yea it stays pretty boring until the Main character meets Achilles. Then the first mission or 2 with him are lame. After that it's whatever. You can do the missions at your own pace.

What I tried to do after every mission is take time to collect trinkets, do hunting quests, stuff like that. The trinkets give you more naval missions to go on....

Thanks guys. I hate being the only one of my friends not having Blops lol. But I get tired of getting killed every 3 seconds online. I wanted a new game experience.
