| Why are Democrats fighting so hard to raise taxes? (Posted on 11/18/12 at 6:15 pm)
What is it that you want? What is your end game? How much labor do you need to steal to achieve this end game?

There is no end game. "Voting is the best revenge". This is just another way for the blame-layers to punish those who are successful only because we inherited our advantages or were given other advantages that are denied to society's victims. Obama ran on it; dude got elected. Get ready to pay.

Maybe because they believe that raising revenue is an important component to get the debt under control?

Sorry to burst your bubble but that is not the way to raise revenue - go get a refund on your higher education

Possibly. It's not in the same solar system of importance as cutting spending though. Scratch that. Let's change it to universe of importance.

It isn't. We never had a revenue problem. Every time our revenue has gone up, so has our spending. I don't want to give those bastards an extra nickle.

How much personal estate do you need to steal, too? LINK

Then there should be no reason to raise taxes unless they are greedy bastards. I attribute me and my wife's success to ourselves. I grew up middle class and my wife grew up dirt poor. We both paid our way through college and we are doing relatively well. However, we are only doing well because of our own work...no one else's. Now the Democrats want to take more of my labor? F them. Greedy bastards...stealing labor they never earned themselves.

Most people who are poor, lazy, and uneducated are democrats, not republicans. Of this % of base, many are spiteful of wealthy and wish to "stick it to them" regardless of fact it will contribute nothing to our debt problem, a bandaid on a broken levee. Its all for show, and votes.

Its a huge sham. Its a wedge issue to keep the loon base of the Rat party attention off the fact that barry is one of the most pathetic presidents in the histore' of our nation. Unemployment is way too high, there are no real prospects for real economic growth. Raising taxes on the eee'ville rich folks is gonna raise about $70-80 billion dollars(if that much) per year. Even with that money, the US Goobermint is running well over $1,000,000,000,000 per year($1 trillion), with no end in sight.

Why? Doesn't effect their voting base. $1 trillion deficits don't matter to Obama. He didn't know what the total debt was.

It's a sad state of this country when we have a president stirring up envy from the lower earners. Instead of making people jealous maybe Obama could encourage and motivate them to become more successful in their careers. It's sad state when we have a president who wants to pull the successful down just to give the impression he is helping the unsuccessful.

Can't be. The proposed taxes don't even pay a significant portion of the annual interest on the debt. Let alone principle. Try again.

It's the only thing they know. They don't know how to control spending or cut expenses. Remember, entrepreneurs didn't build that, and government knows best.

Well exactly. If the debt and deficit were so important to the Dems you would think that they would be fighting to cut spending too. But no, that are not.

You mean over the past 30 years, every time taxes were raised we balanced the budget? No? You mean for 220 years this country developed itself into the world's greatest Superpower with no debt but all of a sudden we need to spend 17 trillion beyond our means over 20 years..... Explain please.

We are no longer dealing in platitudes and rhetoric. The election is over. They are free to do what they are known to do. Tax. And. Spend.

frick off. Revenue is raised by having lower tax rates that sit back and passively collect dollars from increased economic activity. A six year old could figure that out. You are not a six year old, though, are you? No. You are an angry, bitter a-hole with an eyebrow ring who couldn't cut it so now you are bitter and want to see successful people punished to ease your pain because you are a loser.
