He just called Ingram, "Ringrum"

for better or worse, Verne has a lot more individuality and personality than Stockton

Verne makes me laugh at least a solid 10 times a game, whether it's at him or with him, I enjoy laughing.
Stockton, not so much.

Not to mention he looks like a skeleton. Verne is at least eating a lot

I said that in the game thread. They're butchering this broadcast

He did just say Chase Daniel though

Really caught me off guard on that one and I noticed

you can hope you are still lucid enough to do national broadcasts when you're 70 (Stockton). He used to do Saints pretty regularly when CBS had the NFC in the 70's & 80's
Was married to one of the first ladies of sports broadcasting, Lesley Visser, for 27 yrs
back in the day...
Speaking of the broadcast, did ya'll hear John Lynch talking about the Brees shoulder injury? HE was the one who jumped on him and caused it. Said the people of New Orleens should be thankful to him.

Dick Stockton and John lynch have been one of the better tandems this year. People like to bitch though.

This is like people bitching about Verne and Gary. However there is about 10 plays a game where Danielson just nails the situation, playcall and result. Guys like dick and Verne are old but they excel at what they need to do
Down & distance, quarter, time and call the play which they both do well (I mean Jesus can an old guy have a couple of tiny slip ups during a live broadcast) and they do that with top quality broadcast voices.
I can understand not liking a color analyst (collinsworth and Simms stand out to me as annoying) but a play by play would just have to be awful beyond belief to really stand out.

dude... Stockton was fricking awful. At one point he said "and Ingram gets back to the line, maybe a yard" when he went for 5 or so and then when we had Oakland in 3rd and long and they got about 16 back he says "he's about 2 yards short of the first down" when in reality he was about 12 yards short.

Ok so he made a few mistakes. It's live tv and he is an old man way up in a box.
Really it doesn't matter, saints (really LSU fans) love to complain about the announcing but there is a reason these guys are on every week. They do a good job.
I wish Stockton and lynch were doing the niners game, but Artie lange's bitch is good too.
